Art Cube 2R2 Hosts Solo Exhibition by Moon Seon-mi and Hiroyuki | ARTTOKEN

Gallery Art Cube 2R2 is hosting a two-person exhibition, 'Second Glance: A Second View,' by Korean artist Moon Seon-mi and Japanese artist Hiroyuki. Hiroyuki is an artist who reinterprets Western masterpieces like Leonardo da Vinci and Van Gogh using cat characters. He participated in 'Art Dubai,' the largest international art fair in the Middle East this year, as an ARTTOKEN artist, drawing the attention of local stakeholders. Gallery Art Cube 2R2 explained, "Hiroyuki's works induce immediate delight through familiar forms, but expand into irony, insight, and philosophical questions embedded within the pieces." Moon Seon-mi is an artist who has visualized the gap between the ideal woman demanded by modern society and the individual's inner self. The industry evaluates her as having delicately depicted the self-portrait of contemporary women. A representative stated, "Although Moon Seon-mi primarily constructs her canvases around bright colors and lovable characters, her works contain insights into anxiety, self-consciousness, and the finiteness of life. She intuitively approaches a generation accustomed to digital imagery, posing questions about the position and identity of women in visual culture." The exhibition space was curated directly by the two artists. The gallery explained that the curation for each section is designed to guide the audience to view the works with a 'Second Glance.' The exhibition runs from the 19th of this month until August 13th. Meanwhile, this exhibition was planned as a joint promotion between ARTTOKEN and Sanji Gallery. Hong Ji-sook, Director of Gallery Art Cube 2R2, said, "The works of Hiroyuki and Moon Seon-mi allow the audience to look at aspects of life anew through the satire and emotional texture contained within familiar forms," adding, "I hope that the experiences and emotions of each viewer are also projected through the art."
